POE Poetry

Thursday March 18th POE People held their monthly poetry showcase at the Hammond Heritage Center. To say that the crowd was slimmer than usual; due to a schedule conflict with Southeastern's Late Night, the show still went on and was hard as usual. The night was hosted by @justbeanreal and included 9 poetry acts, an upcoming R&B genious and a rap cypher. (personal opinion they could've X'd out the cypher).

The idea of POE People is this: if u attend ur sure to hear all kinds of poetry, diversity at its finest. These 20-25 college kids go N on ev'day life shit that anyone can relate to,and if u cant relate then u must live under ur bed. If u go to hear that deep, real, put ur mind ona whole nutha level type poetry, they got the big homie Giraffe; who never disappoints no matter the content. If u wanna hear some eccentric, hood, we gotta get it bc we all we got & they wanna take it type poetry then u gotta check for the 1st lady of POE People: Kim or as I call her Ms.Kim.

As with any show u go to there's a down time where u sittin there like alrite lets keep it going and POE People is no exception..but the difference is within POE People's down time u got @justbeanreal killin u wit jokes about goin ona pussy eatin expedition to find out if all races of women's pussy really taste like ice cream; which is what a white boy told him when he was 15, or givin the crowd a lesson on peer approved dick and why its so essential to share the source of that approved dick wit ur peers so it doesn't go to waste

Last nights crowd recieved a treat on the R&B tip wit a 4 song performance by Yuri Jones. This kid is serious. Talented wit all capital letters. His style is unexplainable but let's just say he's like Ryan Leslie in skinny jeans, being that he's a singer/rapper and the content of his songs are so personal and soft spoken. I urge ev'one to check this dude out on youtube, search Yuri Jones and I promise u wont be disappointed.

All n all, even tho the crowd wasn't as fat as it usually is, they say the show must go on and thats exactly what it did, and to be truthful it was one of POE People's best shows yet. I cant wait to see what they got in store for next month, and as long as they dont schedule their event on the same night of a bigger/free event, they wont have any problem filling up the venue as they have time and time before.
